P21 is developed from cerebrolysin, which is a peptide. It has a peptide purity of above 98,9 percent. Cerebrolysin is a peptide that has been used to help patients that have suffered from a stroke to recover some of their brain functions. In recent studies it has come to light that this drug can mitigate against an age-dependent decline in learning and memory. This has also been bundled with its neuroprotective qualities. Research is still being carried out on the drug to shed light on other properties that it may have. For its known properties as of now, it’s a very attractive or rather a good candidate for the creation of precognitive medications to treat brain disorders, improve learning and memory, as well as to look to counter diseases such as the Alzheimer’s disease.
When it was administered in aged rats, it prevented the deficit in neurogenesis and increased expression of the neurotrophic factor of the brain. P21 can increase synaptophysin and synapsin I immunoreactivities. This means that this drug can restore synaptic deficits both in the cortex and hippocampus (hippocampus is the most vulnerable brain region for neurodegeneration). This shows that it can enhance synaptic plasticity. Synaptophysin is a glycoprotein involved in vesicle trafficking machinery by regulating synaptic vesicle exocytosis. The glycoprotein is found in the presynaptic vesicle. When a vivo magnetic resonance spectroscopy is carried out it indicates that there were some dependent alterations in the hippocampal content of several metabolites.
Another observation that was seen in rats during the experiments was that the level of myoinositol concentration, which was increased in aged rats rather than in young rats, was reduced by P21. This led to conclusions that activating endogenous neuroprotective mechanisms can actually be a viable way of reducing or limiting cognitive ageing, Alzheimer’s, and other disorders that are neurodegenerative in nature.
P21 has been found to be effective in minimising cell death rates, basically apoptosis, enabling the drug to have insights into the treatment of ischemic stroke, post-operative trauma, and brain contusions.

Dosage: The dosage is generally 1 milligram a day. There are some instances where acute effects may be wanted. For these cases, some will recommend that two to four milligrams be taken a day/daily. P21 also has an excellent ability to break the blood brain barrier because of its nature. The time to achieve an effect has been shown to be quite long. After administration, it can take up to six months for the effects of p-21 to be observed.
Side effects: This drug has not been reported to have any side effects. This may be partly due to the fact that very little information is available concerning the drug. In mice that were used to carry out experiments all their behaviours remained the same, meaning no side effects. The only small observation that was noted in some instances was anxiety in the mice that were used in the experiments. So, as research goes on, perhaps we might be able to uncover some details about P21. However, it is clear that P21 does not affect the user's overall body weight, physical state, explanatory behaviour, has no adverse impact on the locomotor skill, and does not result in any signs of depression. These conclusions are based on findings from the experiments carried out on the mice where even their swim speed did not change after administration of P21. Discussions on the side effects of P21 are still ongoing as further studies and research continue.
Reconstituting: Gently inject 5 ml of bacteriostatic water into the vial. Let it sit in refrigerator for 10 - 15 minutes. If there are any undissolved particles left after 15 minutes, gently rotate the vial between your fingers until all of the powder has dissolved and you are left with clear liquid.
